WHAT IS DERMAL ROLLER AND MESOTHERAPY?

We’re a nation that is more at ease with beauty and cosmetic treatments than ever. Nowadays, we hear about all sorts of treatments, which promise an array of fixes to problems that we have. One of the biggest sections of the cosmetic surgery sector is anti-ageing – we’re simply a nation that does not want to look older.

DERMAL ROLLER
Dermal Roller treatment can be used to treat a number of skin conditions – including ageing, acne and scarring. The roller is a device covered in nearly 200 small surgical needles and then rolled over the face. The needles have different lengths and thicknesses depending on their needs. By rolling over the skin it helps to encourage new tissue to be formed as the face attempts to ‘fix’ these wounds. As the wounds are so small, they promote scar-less healing so that poor skin can be drastically improved.  Whether you have wrinkles, loose skin, ageing skin, acne, spots or scarring you could find that dermal rolling really helps  to improve the way your face looks. The needles  used will vary depending on the treatment given, so make sure that you discuss exactly what you need so we can go ahead with the right treatment and schedule for you.

MESOTHERAPY
Another treatment that can be used to treat a number of ailments is Mesotherapy. As well as helping with face/neck skin rejuvenation it can help with body shaping, excess weight and cellulite. Much like a dermal roller it is given via a number of small needles, although it isn’t a roller but instead a different shaped tool. You can be injected with different products depending on what it is that you would like to treat – vitamins, minerals and medicines can all be administered this way. They are injected into the mesoderm – the layer of fat and tissue situated under the skin. This treatment is usually painless because an anaesthetic cream is used on the area before we perform any treatments.

SIGNING UP FOR TREATMENT
You’ll often find that cosmetic surgeons and professionals offering these treatments offer both, as we do here at Merton Dental. If you’re interested then you should book in for a consultation to discuss your options. By doing this you can discuss your specific needs with Dr Roochi and make sure that whatever you opt in for is the best treatment to suit you and your needs. The cost of these can vary, so we make sure that you know what you are signing up for before we proceed. It is also worth bearing in mind that for many treatments you’ll need more than one course too! Speak to your Dr Roochi about your needs to make sure that you know what you’re getting.
